I've got a pane above an exterior door, are there any success stories in applying film, some companies say it won't work on textured glass?
I've found some old threads on here about applying film or painting this stuff. They're closed so can't tell if it worked.
Or should I replace it, and how much roughly should I expect to pay - is about 1m2?

is it GWRC ( rough cast) or GWPP (polished plate)?
Oh and imo never paint glass, as it looks a ruff as a bears bum.0 -
It's the GWRC type...obscure and slighly uneven surface0

i'd replace with a piece of decorative glass or for a cheaper option you could fix a thin fabric screen.
not sure painting the glass would work, many years ago i worked for a maintenance company and i vaguely recall that we were instructed to paint some glass panels which resulted in many problems - may be easier today with modern paints.0
