Not enough info as usual. I assume that you are using an e-mail client on your mac but what e-mail service are you using? It sounds like you are leaving a copy on the server which gets picked up again by your e-mail client.

You you could try setting your client to delete emails from the server after they're downloaded. As good as Apple Mail is, I've actually completely switched to using gmail on the web only. For a while I was using it with Mail but although Gmail isn't perfect, it's good enough that I don't need a client anymore.

Umm sorry im not very techy, I didnt realise what other info you needed, no need to be so abrupt espresso, I have never posted on this board before.

I use Supanet which is a free email service with my broadband.

Im not sure how to set it to delete emails to be honest!

Possibly a problem with your ISP. I had a similar problem with my ISP with duplicate emails.

Do you use webmail or a mail client?
  • If you're using Mail on OSX 10.4 then go to

    Mail / Preferences / Accounts / Advanced

and make sure that 'Remove copy from server after retrieving a message' is ticked and the dropdown below says 'Right away'
    Wot, no sig?

I have the same problem with OE on my PC, the minimum I get is a duplicate of every email.
Unfortunately I'm on the great satan that is Virgin Brodband.
