Extra esa payment

Hi

I usually get paid my ESA every 2 weeks. As I was due a payment on 26 December, I received an early payment of 2 weeks money on 24 December. Therefore I expected to get my next payment on the 9 January for 2 weeks money but I have received a payment into my account dated 2 January for one weeks money. I am now unsure when I should next expect some money and whether it will be for one or two weeks money!!
Anyone else had strange payments over the Christmas period?

  • This happened to me today. Got 1 weeks payment but my normal payment date would be next wednesday :s I'm puzzled too
  • Seems like it's happened to quite a lot of people. I don't understand why the DWP didn't write to everyone to explain why. Or at least put a message on their website! It's gonna increase their workload no end tomorrow!!

Because DWP are so lazy! They can't be bothered but only to distress peoples over xmas period.

I expecting phone calls tomorrow will be busy

Yes, it must be so distressing to receive an additional payment?!

Tra3eyg, welcome to MSE. Can I suggest you check back here this time tomorrow? There are already a few people that have said they will ring up, so hopefully they will report back and save you the hassle of waiting in a queue. ;)
  • I've read some other stuff online i think their giving people a weeks payment early because of all the early payments over christmas etc... So people aren't having to waiting over 2 weeks for another payment.
  • Has anyone got through to ESA and found out anything?
  • It is a glitch, you will get a week on your due date, then fortnightly thereafter.
