hi everyone,
happy new year!
I am just wondering if someone knows the answer to this as I cannot call the insurance companies today as they are closed.
We are moving abroad in July but i need to renew my car insurance.
I was thinking of paying monthly and then i can finish my policy when i leave and this will be easier than paying up front and then claiming a refund.
do you know if this can be done and if car insurance companies will let you have a policy of this type?
many thanks
abbie

Paying up front for 12 months will get you the best price, once you no longer need it, cancel it and redeem the remainder payment.Be happy...;)0

Paying monthly does not mean you are paying a set amount for each month you have the policy, what is means is you are taking a 12 month loan for the annual insurance premium.
If you are planning on cancelling the policy part way through you should look carefully at each companies policies on this. They will likely charge an admin fee and some elements such as breakdown and legal will not be pro-ratad on cancellation so you will be due the outstanding amount
Also if you happen to need to make a claim on your policy before July you will be required to pay for the full year as there will be no refund0 -
Thank you both... I actually thought as much.. I will call the companies tomorrow and check their policy on early cancelling too.0
