Sorry - I must have missed this. Obviously I am not trying to start anything. I was just curious as to what fairyclicks thought as she is one of the older members, and she is the only member I can think of that would have such a decisive opinion on/if Swagbucks is degenerating so far as to host and encourage people to sign up to scam offers.

I was just messing with you. Didn't mean to offend or upset anyone.

Interesting what you are saying. Considering how many members they have you wpuld think not but then look what happened to superpoints.and some of the cahback sites that people used to use for daily clicks. Or maybe they genuinely din't know. Has anyone askes them if they know?
  • Thanks everyone.

I'd quite happily bet money on it not lasting. No doubt I'll go back cursing SB tomorrow!

swagbucks are huge and i think tbh it gives them a certain arrogance...

fairyclicks, what do you think about this mypcbackup scam being on Swagbucks? As you were the one who originally started this thread way back...

It just reinforces the need to be careful really doesn't it? I did download that myself and have now removed it. Unfortunately i have also just had a call from the bank saying my card was compromised but that was yesterday they said - a 10p payment was taken as a test. I'm not sure what site the breach came from but i did buy something through the holland and barratt shop whatsit yesterday :( it could be completely unconnected but i would suggest anyone else who has used it checks their statements for a small payment being taken or unrecognised payments. Hopefully no-one else has a problem!!

    That's horrible, I'm so sorry.

edit: I agree - definitely find out where the breach came from.

LOL no wars is good :D hehehe

In my opinion there seems to be a lot of changes going on at the minute at SB and although it could very well be to improve things for users it could also be a sign that things are a bit shaky. The scam offer thing in itself i don't think is a bad sign - there have been many of them on the walls etc, this one is just more serious with the ID theft issue - but then others have said credit card details have also been taken via gambling sites on SB. I guess the whole emailing offers thing which is just new gives the impression of a recommended offer and as such i would have thought sb would have checked it out better themselves. Interesting if it had been on the wall i probably would have been more cautious about downloading it......

As always i will say to everyone using online earning sites, yes including swagbucks - don't risk money you can't afford to loose by leaving it in your account!!!!

Also be extremely careful about giving your card details for ANY OFFERS!

They did give a name but it was something like card service - meant nothing to me to be honest. Then again i have had a card that i have only ever used at petrol stations compromised before as well - its usually very hard to trace the breach unfortunately :(

At least this unrecognised payment was only for 10p and the bank were straight on it which is good news :D
