Well, I have just called HMRC about the whole earning online/being self employed thing and am none the wiser. Could hardly understand what the woman was talking about, barely had a chance to explain myself, she didn't seem too bothered that I had no idea what I was talking about, and I didn't get the chance to say that I work part-time as well, and ask if that makes any difference.

She said something about not getting taxed if you earn up to about £5000 a year, but I don't know if that's separate then from what I earn in my job or not..

I am utterly confused about the whole thing. But apparently some things will be sent to me. Will wait and see what that is and where to go from there. But from now on I am putting all my efforts into earning as much as I can online. Since if I'm gonna be registered as self employed, I may as well make the most of it.

You can earn over £8000 before liable for tax....http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/it.htm

I rang them about a year ago because I wanted to make a couple of craft items to sell on-line. I was told I had to register even if I only had 1 item for sale as it counted as me being self employed.

I've registered, applied for a exemption certificate for NI contributions and had to do a self assessment. It's a bit of a faff but they can fine you if they find out, even if there is no chance that you will make any money. So yes, you should register if you earn from surveys but I'm sure many people don't and never get found out. Hope this helps.

Been online a couple of hours and on 32/100. I'm yet to do games. Had a TS for 30sb on my wall, but looks like its the drinks diary again, so left it. Been dq'd from 3 DS and the SP Health offer not on my wall. About to try the profile surveys.

I actually got the drinks one to work this time, but even though it says I've completed as have filled 3 days of diaries, I haven't been credited.

I first had a drink survey a while ago for 50sb, with a promise of a bonus for filling in diary for 3 days, but never got another folow up diary or sb's. I guess if you didn't get credit either it must be broke.

I am trying to fill in my profile, but can't seem to navigwte further down the page on the first one I am trying, the household one to see if there are any more questions, or even to submit it, its the same in full screen. Any ideas please?

Edit: I had to remove the chat bar at the bottom of my screen to see all the questions, tho it came up with an error when I tried to submit it so have to try again *sigh*

That's what I had too, followed by the 30sb ones which until today weren't working. Def all part of the same survey as the first day showed as completed. Shame none of it credited though. Would've taken me to cashing out.

After you click on the email thing, above that there's a box saying survey profiles click on that.

Thanks Happi, yes I'd tried that but nothing happens - no error message just nothing. Nevermind, thanks anyway :)
