Still really unsure about how everything works so think I might go to my local Citizens Advice to ask if they can help. Not sure where else might be able to give free advice, and would much rather talk to someone in person.
I am already registered as self-employed so this is not a problem for me. You might want to call up HMRC and explain the situation. If you need to register as self-employed they will tell you. If you do need to, you will be required to fill in a tax return for each tax year. Again if you have any problems doing this you can call up HMRC and ask for advice.0 -

thanks all“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Swagbucks. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

I agree. Why go to Citizens's Advice when there is a helpline and experienced people willing to tell you all you need to know? When I worked for HMRC we had to make sure we gave consistent advice so that taxpayers weren't told one thing by one officer and something else by another. The helpline people really are very helpful.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0 -

I hate phone calls. I just find it really awkward. Just felt I would rather speak to someone in person and that way I might be able to explain myself better. I will consider just calling HMRC though as it would mean I get the info I need quicker.
Thanks for the advice.0 -
