Thanks chaps, I will take your advice and ignore.

In some respects I'd happily take them on, giving my details out so that they would avoid sending the lease company (and subsequently my employer) correspondence however I feel that would just make life easier for them.

I think if I receive anything through I'll contact the DVLA. No point in telling the person at work who will receive anything (if it comes) from the leasing company, she'll only get confused and will probably forget I told her anyway :)

Feeling a lot better about this now :)

I think we have seen new AOS members in a probation period, being allowed to get DVLA data by paper application for 6 months, before being let loose on the electronic data. I would just be concerned in case this bunch are 'pending' in this way.

BUT happily, the fake PCN you mention, being for over £100, is not compliant with the BPA Code of Practice (probably in several ways but the greedy amount gives the game away)!

So, take a copy of the fake PCN without showing the car reg details/location, email it to the DVLA and ask 'Please tell me urgently - can this lot get the registered keeper data of my car, and if so, why is that allowed seeing as they are not listed as AOS members and their fake PCN is over £100?' (do not mention which car and do not tell them it's your leased car, just say 'my car').

Hopefully the DVLA will set your mind at rest that no letters will be sent. :)

If not, if the DVLA say they are currently allowed individual paper applications, then you'll know what you are dealing with and to make things easier you could then do a simple appeal to hook the PPC scammer in your direction. Also copying in your workplace and the Lease company to show them you have stated to 'ScammersRUs' that you were the driver, and point out therefore, that any 'liability' to either firm for this con is ENDED. Also give the Lease company this link from their own Trade Body, the BVRLA, which links to the POF Act and also makes it clear their liability is ZERO once the driver's details are given. There's even a BVRLA contact number & email there in case either Fleet Manager wants their hand held a bit more.

(ONLY do this if you find out from the DVLA that this bunch can get data. If they can't, then of course you are not going to hand them your details on a plate).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
