Have more or less finished sorting through my kitchen cupboards, which is an achievement as it's just been a shelf at a time whilst I've been waiting for tea to cook/the kettle to boil etc... have now moved all the homeless stuff from the floor and managed to get it into cupboards - although I confess I still have stuff floating, but it doesn't live in the kitchen - mainly tins of paint that I can't fit in the under the stairs cupboard of doom:o
So lots more stuff for the table top sale tomorrow and will be putting some bits on ebay too whilst it's free listing.
Keep going everyone:)Official DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Just a few more things to report here.
Last week we took a car full of junk to the tip.
Today DH and FIL have a large car and trailer full of stuff at a car boot and apparently it's selling really well :j.
I have persuaded daughter to go through her toys and donate a few unplayed with items to the charity shop too.
However, DH has decided to start a hobby again that involves lots of equipment and collected tat. So I feel like some of our good work is being undone again.
Oh well, onwards and upwards!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Why??????????? bread flour isn't majorly expensive!!
Plus, I've discovered that flour often has eggs in it, which turn into tiny little flies if left too long and they hatch. Hence the use-by date!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Hi all
Have done something this weekend that feels totally alien to me.
I needed some new running trainers (my current ones weren't fitted, big no-no for runners and probably why I got injured last year) so brought some new ones. The old ones have gone straight into the bag to be taken to the clothes recycling bin down the dump. There was some deliberation 'they're in good condition still, I could wear them as leisure trainers' - no I won't, I have plimsolls that I love. 'I ran my first 10k in them' - I will always remember my first 10k, I have a medal, I need no other physical reminders.
They have not been taken to the dump yet but the bag is in the car ready for when I drive past.
I also managed to put the shoe box of the new shoes straight into the recycling bin without too much 'what could I use this for' - it's gone.

I trundled along to the table top sale again today but it was very quiet, apparently there was another 'monthly' sale taking place at another venue and it was supposedly packed, so missed a trick there. I guess the usual customers decided to go there for a change:(
So didn't make a lot but at least got rid of a few more [STRIKE]bits of tat [/STRIKE]preloved items:p
Have listed some of the better quality stuff on ebay as it's free listing so we'll see how that does.
I have a bag of not very good quality stuff that I'm going to take to a new cash for clothes place that has opened in town. Not sure how much they pay but anything would be welcome at the mo. I'm having to have some work done on my roof as it's leaking, so that's sure to cost an arm and a leg:( The guy came to have a look a couple of days ago and is getting back to me with a price.
Big hugs to all who are struggling xOfficial DFW nerd - 282 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'

Today a Sacred Object left the house.
My old typewriter from the 1970's.
There are a lot of happy memories attached to this typewriter. Around 1972, when I was 12, my mum decided it was time to go back to work. She hadn't worked since she got married in 1955' so she wanted to brush up her skills. She started evening classes for shorthand and typing, and got a portable typewriter to practice at home.
The problem was, I started hogging the typewriter. So for Christmas that year I was given my own portable typewriter.
My mum used to get records out of the library, where you could practice your typing rhythm. My mum and I spent many a happy hour bashing away on our typewriters along to these records. The cat hated the noise though, and used to meow in an irritable way!
I used my typewriter a lot throughout the 1970's, but in the 80's was so busy with young married life, it never really got used again. By the time I wanted to type again, we had a computer.
The typewriter has been in my loft for about 30 years, so the time had come to move it on.
I sold it on eBay to a lady who wanted it for her young daughter. She collected it today. So I let go of something that was precious to me, and nothing bad happened. In fact I'm rather pleased that an young girl will have some fun with it.
If I'd thought about it, I'd have kept my mum's typewriter as well, and sold that too, but my mums typewriter went when the house was cleared.
My husband is very supportive of my quest to clear the house of things that are no longer needed. He's found the details of a local company who will transfer videos and cine film to DVD. My husband has always liked filming holidays, so we have quite a lot of films which we never see anymore, and take up a lot of space.
I want to try and work out how much it will cost, but if we sell all the old projectors and screens we have in the loft, we could use the money raised towards the cost of the transfer. I've also noticed there is a market for old cine films on eBay. My husband is thinking about whether he'd be ok about selling his films once they've been transferred.Early retired - 18th December 2014

We bought a box of slides with a projector, at an auction. From a quick look, the slides are all family stuff, days out, beach etc. We only wanted the projector for some slides OH has and felt that to look at the slides was being nosey, it's someone else's family memories and I felt it was a shame that it had been just got rid of.
Bad weekend for decluttering. Nothing happened. I've got some stuff on ebay, and apart from that I made some job applications, but the rooms needing attention stayed un-attended!:o0 -

My DH has said twice since xmas he need to get rid of half his shoes (he owns about 10 pairs of which he only ever wears 4). Just the fact he has said it is very exciting (note to self...must get out more:rotfl:) as this is a significant step forward and it will probably happen by the end of the year.
And once they are gone I know he will never own that many again (left overs from past buying patterns from before we met).I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
At the tip recycling, where they sell on stuff they salvage, loads and loads of photograph albums, photos in frame are chucked away by people, it really upsets me, all those memories just discarded. It made me go through my pics and give ones releveant to my DD, I also gave a lot back to ex, he said he didn't want them, but I left it to him to make that decision. Now I have a small box, which I will look through again sometime.
I have some film on VHS, so if anyone finds out a source where they transfer to CD, please let me know.
I've done very little lately, although I have been looking on FB buying and selling...not good, but at least I'm not buying, just looking, which seems to assuage the need to buy. Well, I almost bought, but someone else wanted the item, so I said they could have it.
I'm eating to much too...0 -

The memories would still be with us on DVD. We wouldn't need the film versions anymore. I wouldn't like to just bin them, I'd rather somebody else had them, and hopefully make some use of them.Early retired - 18th December 2014
