12 things picked up and put away off the bedroom floor

12 items of washing picked up from DDs floor and put in washing machine

    TBC......
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Morning Peeps,
just updating myself with all this brilliant activity going on in here.
SJPRMC01 - Do you have other house members? perhaps task them a little job to do and you can remove those items from the house when you CBA..:D
Or I found doing something during the TV adverts over a week makes a massive difference with very little effort too.:)
Welcome all the newbies to a new adventure, thats how I am looking at things at the mo... when sorting things for going most things do btw! not too difficult most times. Then there are times that make you stop and think.. I have just had one of those yesterday. Found a clothes purchase from CS some time ago never been worn by me... and remembered why I had bought it.. my wardrobe is still fitting for this item to be used but my weight aint:o. I had been pondering about making use of weight/size reduction for some time, last night I did it... make that step.
So Lancashirelassie is also on the declutter list!!!
Honestly May is my target, if things dont declutter well other items will suffer and be removed from this house;).
got items ready to show on ebay which must be loaded this week.. thats the challenge:o
I am having to try really hard at putting stuff back where it came from or where it should go immediately and leave my head decluttered also:cool:.
Not sure what I have thrown so far this week, if anything, one thing I can see is the house is tidier and things are where they belong, now thats scary but VERY good:).
Thinking and thanking you all x
    This week extra payment
    Total paid
    Total paid 2013 - 1963.83:) Total paid 2014 - 7443.00:j
    Total paid in 2015 - £310
    May'15 o/d 0% 1600. B/C 3060 0% :o Car loan 3632 till June 2016

I'm guessing I'm not going to use the george fore@man grill that I got on a whim a few months ago, and which has been cluttering up space in my kitchen as I try to ignore it and also justify spending good money on it. I'm not going to cook meat in it because I hate the way it does it anyway (my DD has one), and I'm never going to do the toasted sarnies because it means I'll have to clean the darned thing! I talked myself into it as an aspirational losing weight and healthy eating type thing. It's big and ugly and sits on a work top...

so why can't I get rid of it?
:D I know where you're coming from as I had the same issue with the Item I just freecycled. Shan't name it as it was up a huuuge freecycle group but it was a kitchen appliance of the counter-squatting variety.

It's as if we're saying to ourselves I paid good money for that! And we did, and we're sore because it didn't perform as we expected, we didn't like what it did, it was a pain to wash up after use, it took up a lot of space in a small home etc etc so on and so forth.

But, if you can step back from emotion that we've been decieved somehow into owning the Grill (or whatever) and that it'll somehow account for itself if we keep it on the premises long enough, ask yourself how much your peace of mind it worth.

Do you, several times a day, see the Grill and think something along the lines of Bliddy thing! I paid £££ for that, that's a lot of money to me, coulda bought X with it instead, I'm a fool, I always do stupid things with my money, bliddy thing..........and repeat.

And do those thoughts churn around whenever you see or even think of the Grill (or whatever)? This can't be healthy or kind. You wouldn't want to put a dear friend through all this negativity, so why would you want to do it to yourself?

We're human. We make mistakes. Sometimes we buy mistakes. It's OK to admit it and dispose of the evidence and move on.

Incidentally, George F0rman grills are one of the most common items to be decluttered, seems that an awful lot of people are suckered into buying them and find out the're not that suitable.

    Rampant Recycler
Keep going! I just put two small (50ml) toiletries jars into the recycling, both thick glass with beautiful rose metallic tops. Previously I'd have put them to one side to hold 'something'. Now they are gone. Also passed a book on to a fellow MSE'R who mentioned that he would like something in that line - it was a shorter, earlier version of one I got for Christmas that I already owned.
Tidied one of the food cupboards and various boxes /packets went in the bin - all empty, as the contents were consolidated e.g. stock cubes, pasta, spaghetti, coffee...
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
