I would go to a High Street retailer for the next one. You may pay a bit more but going in and refusing to leave until they sort out any problems can be pretty effective.

    i sure will ILW... :)

Thanks for the post. I too was considering a purchase from them but will avoid now. I'm suprised they state that they charge fees for dealing with returns.. to my knowledge this isn't covered under the relevant legislation.

    From the website again..

    QUOTE]

Oddly the Website seems different now:

Faults Occurring Within 1 year (3 months for refurbished products): If you've had the product for up to 1 year and require a fault repair, your product will be repaired directly by the manufacturer or by us. If that's not possible we will give you a replacement, or if that's not possible, a refund.

i have not received even acknowledgement from LAPTOPSDIRECT.

tried to phone today...got through eventually.... beep beep beep then nothing. :(

please do not buy from this company, no customer support, fob you off to the manufacturer.

reading back, buyers are more than happy with JL customer support.

so got another computer for my son on JOHN LEWIS' and 2 year warranty.

son says maybe his support teacher has backed up his A level course work..... but will have to wait until monday... fingers crossed

thankyou to everyone that has helped :T

    update,

after finally getting through to MSI, they have said they will have to contact their headquarters for a refund number...that was a few days ago........and still no correspondence back

rang LAPTOPSDIRECT, gave them all the information and directed them to my emails that i sent including copies of all receipts, and also copies of emails sent to msi direct

the guy gave me the msi phone number and promptly put the phone down.

LAPTOPSDIRECT, WILL NOT HELP YOU IF YOU BUY FROM THEM, but will re-direct you to the manufacturer.

I sent a letter of intent to both companies a few days ago...and you guessed it........nada

ps. teacher had most of sons stuff still on the schools computer:)
