Mountfield 1125m/ stiga primo
why are company like ggp, garden global products allowed to buy companies with a respectable reputation such as mountfield and then produce inferior goods and get away with it. I purchased a mountfield ride on out front mower and it been nothing but a nightmare which of course mountfield will do nothing about. I even went to a reputable mountfield dealer h.r. Crawfords in boston to purchase my lawn mower and they are more concerned about keeping they dealership than looking after they customers best interest. The fact that this mountfield mower is no longer available even under the stiga primo model which it was also sold under, except in scan under yet another name only enforces my belief that the mower is not fit for purpose.
I have tried to make a case for the small claims court only to come up against a brick wall as to do so i have to have a report done on the mower which so far i have had no luck finding a engineer with the correct qualifications that crawfords will accept that is willing to do a report and it would seem that even though the mower is no longer available i am not allowed a workshop manual showing details of the mower that could be looked at, so they get away with producing sub standard goods and the customer can do nothing about it.
This seems to be happening more and more often i saw a tv programme a few weeks back now where this is happening in funeral diectors and the fact that bad reviews and feed back can be removed from the internet does not help when you are trying to research companies or goods.

Lots of info in Google "Mountfield Mowers" including manuals.
It would be up to the courts to verify the qualifications of the report.
A competitor to Crawfords is the answer, though maybe not from he same town.0 -
I suspect Crawfords would dispute/reject any report. If you have receipts for fixes, and can document all problems, copies of letters sent to Crawfords or the maker, would that not suffice? And as for a report, you could perhaps find someone who services mowers, or someone who uses mowers for a living, and pay them for the survey.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0

To consider a case under SOGA one would first have to know the initial cost, how long you have had it and the issues you have had and remedies sought/afforded to you. There is much talk of expert reports etc but in reality...these are not always needed. The test of reasonableness is a good one and retailers want to avoid contesting a well reasoned case in the civil courts.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
