Im currently a college and working part time so i cant afford to move out of my mums. In order to apply for my dream job i need £1,000. Im gonna save for this. Will my savings affect my mothers benefits? (jsa and housing benefit).
My most important question is about my inheritance that I will get when I am 21. It will be £20,000. Will these affect my mothers JSA and housing benefit?
My mother cannot know about the money. She must not be allowed to benefit from it in anyway. I am scared that her JSA will stop because of the money and she will find out about it and expect me to pay for her.
She was cut out of my grandmothers will and knows nothing about the money.
Any advice appreciated.

Your mother's JSA will not be affected by your earnings or savings ever.
When you are 21 and left college...assuming you'll be working then the housing benefit may or may not be due to you being a non dependant. You may have to pay towards your portion of the rent and the housing benefit will be reduced....or you could move into a flat of your own.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
