I would say thou that as you've already took it to BMW and instructed them admiral may not be happy and try and wangle out of it I'd of had it recovered straight away by your insurance company directions to their approved repairer they then may well of agreed to send it to BMW I think you should be ok if you shout and scream loud enough however more and more claims we see on flood damaged engines don't think it will be long before they say your not covered if you park up and you return to it submerged fair enough but to drive throu it is another story plus I've seen cars that that stopped just as they realise its a no hoper then some plank in a range rover steams throu and the wave then knackered the car that stopped and the plank in his range rover disappears into the distance0

New engine cost around 12k fitted...Insurance paid!0 -
We had exactly the same issue on christmas day, I drove through a relatively small puddle and the airbox sucked in some of the water from underneith the car which caused the engine to go pop.
Claim is currently going through esure...0 -
Thanks ever so much for the replies. I get a bit annoyed when people say you shouldn't have driven through the water. It wasn't a pool of huge water or a particularly bad appearance, it's not feasible to stop on a corner of a dark countryroad road road at night due to a bit if of standing water. Fingers crossed the insurance pays!0

Happy New Year! :j0 -
There is, of course, the write-off scenario that could end this tale.0

like my 09 golfDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -

Unfortunately Admiral are one of the few companies that don't offer a brand new replacement for cars written off with 12 months of purchase from new. So if the OP's car is within twelve months of purchase he'll miss out on many thousands of pounds.0
