18th birthday present ideas for daughters boyfriend!

When my eldest turned 18, his favourite present was a "grown up" leather wallet from his cousin. My younger son who is 18 in March is hoping for the same gift.

I think things like wallets are good for boys. Personally I'd find it weird if my bf's mum had bought me a 'special' present such as an experience day (particularly when I was 18). I don't think there's anything wrong with a tankard- particularly if it's paired with a crate of beer (which is what my mum consistently buys my bf for birthday and christmas because she knows he will use it!).

Does he have an ipod/iphone? An itunes voucher might be a safer bet than a music shop, or an amazon one.
