What an idiotic thing to do!

Citylink driver has left a parcel on my doorstep in torrential rain right underneath the porch door which was open! Box sodden through and three items inside ruined. Can't get them replaced as they were items I ordered in the sale and are now out of stock.

You could make a formal complaint in writing to Citylink with all the necessary details of date and approx delivery time and see if you get a response from them.
  • It's not CityLink the OP has a contract with - you'd need to take the complaint up with the retailer.

How infuriating - but not surprising. Watched out of my bedroom window as Citylink driver parked outside my house, put a card through the door(claiming they'd tried to deliver) and was halfway back to his van by the time I got the front door open. His reasoning - there was no car on the drive so he didn't bother to knock!!!!!!

I've spoken to both. They claim they will look into it and get back to me.

At least if they thought you weren't in they were prepared to leave a card. We had an Amazon package dumped on our porch worth £130 whilst we were visiting family in Dorset over the weekend. The estimated delivery date was tomorrow but it came on Friday. Fine it arrived early but they shouldn't leave it outside your front door when you're not in, anyone could have had away with it!

They once left my delivery outside the front door. Even worse was it was just a few steps from the street and it was stolen. Citylink wouldn't admit that they'd done anything wrong though

Just spoken to Citylink and basically the driver has lied through his teeth about where he left the parcel (no surprise there). No apology, no interest, just very rude.

    Very frustrating

Hey Greg-- I'm running a story about this for a national broadsheet tomorrow. Any way you could tell me more?

Or any of you frustrated customers: a chance to vent to the world. PM me your wrathful stories.

    All the best,

    Margot
  • One of my posties once left two parcels outside in the p'ing rain all day.

The one we have now is related to my OH so if we're in he'll sit anything at the bottom of the stairs.

Can I rant about Jack Straw, Melita Norwood and this country's nuclear manslaughter shame?
