Uppababy Vistas are great. Not particularly cheap though but very versatile and will last a child until 3 or 4."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Or it just takes them a while to find one that actually suits their needs

So true.
If you can, best thing to do is get a second hand pram or stroller - or nothing at all. After a few weeks of lugging baby around, you'll suddenly realise what it is you actually want/need from a pushchair and then you can buy the model you want - new or second-hand.
I won't offer any specific advice because *I* wouldn't have believed *me* before I had my first child. My first pushchair was a disaster - it seemed so sturdy and comforting in the store but set-up weeks later, forward-facing with baby actually in it, it made me want to cry because my child looked so tiny and seated so far away from me. I refused to use it and ended up carrying her around in a sling for ages until I found a new pushchair that I actually liked. And I'd spent months researching the first (horrid) pushchair!

I bought a silver cross sleepover pram 2nd hand. It was like new i just sponge cleaned it so felt fresh as can be for use. I checked the wheels where not to worn looking and they were not. I have had so many compliments i cannot remember any compliments about pushchairs with my other 2!. My daughter has only just grown out of the pram stage. She always looked comfy and had plenty of room. We have turned it into the pushchair setting and its still facing me but now she can see more of what's going on. Never used the stand that converted the pram to a bassinet but would have been handy if our house was set up differently.0

I too recommend the uppababy vista. My little one loves it and it's so easy to handle. It is well worth the pricetag imo. The carrycot on the 2012 version can also be used for overnight sleeping as it has a ventilated mattress. Also available in a choice of colours
