I got quotes of £1200 before car insurance for women had risen by 25%, now my cheapest is £2000. Can they increase by more than 25% as they have advised me that each broker has no limit on the increase?

They can charge you as much as they want. If your not happy with the price go elsewhere.
Im getting quotes of £800+. Full no claims. No accidents, No points or convictions. I consider myself to be extremely low risk.
Yet the comparison sites still want that much? My renewal is nearly half that though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The "25%" figure was a rough average given to journalists. How much the change affects you as an individual depends on a lot of other factors (your age, your car, your postcode, you name it) and with 60,000,000 people in the country the average may not apply to you.
If you are a young woman driving a powerful car then you are now lumped in with boy racers who have always paid through the nose for their insurance. If you are a middle aged woman driving a boring car then you shouldn't see much change.0 -
I did a quote, price was the same as last year £330, fully comp, £150 excess, 6 years no claims. Im 29 and female.
