My Cat Wee'd on my Boots!

One of my cats wee'd on my leather Boots and now they stink!!

Any ideas how to get this off without runining my boots? They are long boots. I've washed off but that smell...eek!

Luckily I adore my cats...:o...it was the day I was packing to go away over Christmas....the suitcase always upsets them...:(

I use Simple Solution Dog Stain and Odour Remover on both puppy accidents and areas where cats have sprayed. There is a special cat version available - it is supposed to use enzymes to eliminate the smell.

The only possible downside is that you have to generously apply the spray and leave it to dry naturally, so it may mark your boots....but at least they should smell OK!

I'd try popping an open tub of bicard/baking soda (not powder) inside each one and leave for several days, if not longer.

Is good at absorbing odours and won't mark your boots.

I'd even be tempted to lay the boots flat in a cupboard maybe, sprinkle the soda generously over the outside and leave for a couple days, then shake/hoover off with an attachment.

Use an enzyme cleaner that has been tested on leather like Em Clean. This will eliminate the smell without any fear of damaging the leather.
    Lots of knowledge about leather

Thank you! I'm gong to try ALL of the above suggestions!! I think it doesn't matter at this point if they do stain as currently they are destined for the bin

One of my gang decided my large leather bag was a great place to pee once when he had a UTI...in my case it was mainly the lining which carried the 'perfume' so I managed to wash it in biological washing powder. I did the use RX66 odour eater on the bag to get rid of the remaining pong which had a habit of wafting out at me at inopportune moments.

Well I spent a while yesterday trying various things and nothing has really helped. Luckily it hadn't gone through to the lining inside so I've lashed on a load of really stinky boot polish and have decided to air them by wearing them!! I am wearing a very strong perfume today too! Hope no-one at work notices the pong.........
