Virgin were fantastic with CCCS ( stepchange) My barclay card never stopped interest, only dropped interest from 29.9% down to 12.9% Pain really as its taking me ages to get rid of them!
Barclay took over my Goldfish and Egg account, but as Goldfish and Egg previously stopped the interest, they couldn't start adding it back again.0 -
I had a funny feeling they wouldn't be helpful and as i unfortunately have 3 Barclaycards due LV and EGG been taken over im going to have fun!sealed pot challenge 099

Barclaycard were a nightmare with me! They even sent a doorstep collector who swiftly got told to sling his hook.
They eventually froze interest for about 6 months and then started charging it again albeit at a low rate and still are charging it 5 years on despite repeated requests asking them to stop. They've been a nightmare from the start tbh.
Good luck with it all.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 2014

Interesting comments so far. My partner's interest on debt at Barclays was frozen even though CCCS said they were the worst to deal with.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Barclaycard are still charging us, though I was sure they said they'd stop. Need to check the paperwork!0

Barclaycard are sill charging us interest. They lowered it for a while but seem to keep increasing it every few months :mad::mad:

e4rub, they are increasing my 'goodwill' interest rate, It did start at 5.9%, went upto 10.9% and last month has gone to 12.9%
I phoned them up and asked them for whether they would be willing to freeze interest as i only have a Max of 10 months left, he said no, its already on a good rate and i should be greatful its not on the 29.9% they would be charging me
Its annoying isn't it that they are upping the interest rates, when all you want is a little bit of help! 0 -
My barclaycard is frozen, they were actually the first to freeze interest, i don't know whether it makes any difference but this was an ex egg cardLBM 2 and the OH is onboard sept 12, DMP will start on the 1st November, DFD who cares as longs as it comes:)
1 year down 5 to go and now under 30k and 10% paid off :beer:0 -
My Egg instantly froze interest but they did this before being taken over, Barclay couldn't change te T&C's then which was lucky
