Leaking Concrete roof - best way of sealing?

Hi All,
I've got an out building with a flat bare concrete roof, I've noticed some water leaking down one of the walls, so I'm considering applying something to the roof,After its been cleaned of moss etc.
My first choice is apply a bitumen paint to the roof but with the months of rain we've had the roof is soaking. Do I need to wait for it dry out (which might be never!) Or is there another way or product I can use to seal the roof whilst still damp?
Thanks

Hi my partner is a roofer. He uses cromopol to repair flat roofs. Don't use bitumen paint it will not last half as long as cromopol, just brush out excess muck and water and dry with a rag.

It is fantastic stuff will make a great repair0 -
hi, i also had a concrete roof on an extension that started to leak. i tried the paint on roof sealant type stuff but to be honest it never really worked. in the end i re roofed it using rubber sheeting. great job easy to do and will last longer than i will. google rubber roofs and you will get loads of helpful sites. i watched a few vids on you tube for how to do it and it was a doddle.:)0

Kev, if you mean EPDM, that is great stuff. I re-roofed a 8ft x 10ft garden shed apex roof with it for about £80 in material costs and a few hours easy DIY labour.
Phil, how big is your roof?
In my opinion, EPDM is likely to be an effective and long lasting solution for not that much more cost than sealant paints etc.
No doubt others will disagree.0 -
hi yes epdm is what i meant. top stuff easy to do and looks great as well. i bought mine from a place called rubber 4 roofs and they were spot on. also sell all trims etc which finish it off nicely.0

how do you attatch the rubber stuff to the concrete? We have the same problem with a huge garden shed with a concrete roof. It's now slimy green inside and everything has a furry mould coating.0

I'm not sure what adhesive is best for concrete but there must be one as concrete is one of the approved substrates.
