If NI is good enough to sell your music in, it should be good enough to play in. Ticket prices are already higher here to allow for the extra cost of travelWell I Love Tv And I Love T. Rex, I Can See Through Your Skirt I've Got X-Ray Spex0

In post 7 you say you would SEND bands over to NI, yet now youre NOT taking the risk of sending them over in fear of losing money????? ANY band worth a sh*t is doing for the love of music and their fans, yes they have to make money but bands playing up and down the country in small venues arent anyway, how could they £3-4 a ticket and playing to 60-70 people. Johnny Panics UK Tour, playing Belfast while on the Scottish leg will cost £300 odd thats in on gig day and out after. Its not a lot to keep the people that are your bread and butter happyWell I Love Tv And I Love T. Rex, I Can See Through Your Skirt I've Got X-Ray Spex0 -
I would love to see more gigs in Northern Ireland .
I dont think its all down to the cost off getting across the Irish Sea , when the bands will travel to Dublin .
I was at a concert in Belfast recently ,and due to the railway line being closed I looked at staying in a B&B or hotel in Belfast .The only place I could find (on the internet ) was the Hilton at £180 .It was cheaper to get a taxi home. I am going to 2 concerts in Dublin next week ,my hotel wont cost anything near £1800 -
Do you think its a case of "We've played in Dublin, thats Ireland done?"0

Couple of years ago Avril Lavigne(shudders) played only in Belfast as part of her tour instead of Dublin, i had my daughter there to see the support band Simple Plan and i can assure you there were plenty of fans from the South there.0

I think that's an example of one of those "artists" that I'd rather only went to Dublin!:rotfl:Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"
