It's now easier to buy crack than a CD in your average town centre, that can't be a good thing.

Do you live in Hull? I would suggest you need to move.

There is only one group to blame for the collapse of yet another iconic British store.

    Boomers.

    Boomers.

I blame those for whom the concept of paying for music, games or movies is completely alien because they can get whatever they want through torrents, usenet groups or a pirate copy provided by a mate.

And that sure ain't the boomers.

Well HMV have outlasted Virgin Megastores, Fopp and Zavvi, and are a diverse group, not just a chain of 300 stores.

I think they are doing fine.

    any other predictions?

HMV in Hull happens to be on one of the "nicer" streets.
It is near M&S and only just around the corner from the BBC.

Plus nobody can afford crack in Hull :)

Its a shame. I like HMV, I find obscure dvd's that I would not have heard of without them. Its not like I can google 'wierd b movie that I might like' and have any real chance of finding what I am after.

if you haven't seen it i'd recommend this:-

My freind has been doing exactly that using Amazon and Ebay, no problems. We recently wanted an 80's sci fi classic called 'Damnation Alley' wit radioactive cockroaches:p
