Handbag insurance

Options
Does anybody know of any companies that do handbag insurance? One that covers the contents AND the handbag as I have a few mulberry bags that I can't afford to lose!

You can cover large value items seperately, like rings etc, don't know about handbags!

If you can't afford to loose them, then don't take them out.

If you do take them out and put them down, The incurers may say it was left unnatended so not covered anyway.

    Check the smallprint.

Forgotmyname is spot on. They will be covered as personal effects under your household policy. Check to see if you have the cover. Just remember that a claim for a handbag will likely lead to an overall premium increase. Whilst they are in the house they will fall under your contents cover so the risk is there to lose more than one if say a fire should occur. Other than that you will only have one with you at a time, so bag and contents will be worth c£1500 at a guess. Check your single article limit is high enough.

But there is no point having stuff if you are paranoid about taking them out of the house. Defeats the object don't you thing?

Its like the kids at school, Look ive got a pair of trainers that costs a months wages.

But they are only for show. They only get worn when someone new will see them and say how nice they were.

Someone gloats mine cost more. So you paid more for the same item?? You were ripped off then.
They couldnt understand that. Just a blank expression.

Off to play football.. Err i cant i have to do something. Whats the point in having trainers you cant wear or use?
And they cost so much you cant afford a cheap pair to use.

    Home insurance under personal possessions.

However you need to ensure that the amount covers not only cost of the handbag and contents but everything else you take out of the house of value with you at the same time.

So if your most expensive designer bags costs a few thousand pounds but you also may have a £500 smartphone (even if it's on a contract), expensive make up in the bag, designer glasses or sun glasses, expensive jewellery and a laptop then the total amount selected must cover all these.

In other words you could easily have more than £5,000 worth of stuff out with you at one time.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
