However - it's a bit too brutal for some drilling jobs around the house; I tend to use it when the Bosch really can't cope (and that easily drilled right through a wall for a cable run).

then may be i should go for a drill with 3 functions where i can do drill, hammer&drill and chisel. this way drill function can be used for wood & tiles, hammer& drill for masonary and chisel if i ever need to!
am i correct abt the use of the three functions? i.e. in drill mode, an SDS drill is just like a normal drill?0 -

Yes the drills have three functions unlike my AEG! I say go for it!
