Selling home to pay care home fees?

Does anyone have Power of Attorney for him?
Thank you. I will look into that, but I doubt it. It's only in the last few weeks that he seems to have deteriorated mentally - initially it was his mobility that was the reason for his hospital stay (he had a fall at home).
I must confess that when I asked him to make the improvements, it was for his own comfort - it never occurred to me that it could be a regular source of rental income should he go into care.0 -

He owns an outdated terraced house with no central heating or double glazing. I tried to get him to do these things, but he was resistant. I guess his home isn't really rentable as it stands. It's a shame, as he has substantial savings (around 70k) and could have easily funded the improvements.
Many elderly people in hospital are not encouraged to drink and this can result in dehydration this in turn can cause mental confusion. You may find that he improves if he is properly hydrated in the care home. This was certainly the case with my MIL and I hope you see a similar improvement.0 -

Thanks, I'm hoping that is the case.0
