Thinking of getting one for my Core2Duo 2.7GHz desktop at the OS drive. It has 4GB RAM - DDR2.
Which SSD would be a good match?

Samsung 830's are one of the best.... their newer 840 isn't so good apparently, unless you get the Pro version.
I got an 830 and was most impressed with overall performance increases. You ideally should load the OS from scratch rather than using Ghost to clone it across.
This guide is worth reading to make sure you get it set up the right way

+1 for the 830. Bought one the other month & am more than happy with it.
Got mine from ebuyer.com0 -
Samsung or Crucial.
From my experience, you should stay well clear of OCZ - I had endless problems with that make of SSD; switched to Crucial and all has been fine.0
