DLA to PIP question

Hi, I can see that the NEW claims are being moved to the PIP system in April, also that the current claims will start from October. My wife's DLA is up for renewal in May. Is this seen as a NEW claim or not? In other words will we be doing the DLA shuffle or going straight to PIP?

  • transfer from dla to pip has in the main been put back 2 years to 2015,afaik she will be sent a renewal for dla,unless there is a change in circumstances or a break in her claim

  • As you say - wait and see. My DLA review is Feb 2015, so I expect mine will go straight over to PIP by then. But hopefully by then the rules will be clearer than those seemingly drafted at present and we will all know (I hope) where we stand or sit - no puns intended.

    My DLA is due for renewal in August 2013. As things stand, I should have another round of DLA, but it could still go either way!

  • If I am reading that right, my next DLA in Feb 2015 will be PIP then? Award was set period of 3 years and not indefinite/lifetime. Oh dear.

    im in same boat as you spellkaster we will get told when dla know themselfs when i rung them just b4 xmas i asked about pip they said they dont know anything yet we will all be informed in due course
