    Debt-free and Proud!
OK, I've popped over to your other thread to have a look at your SoA. It's very tight, no denying it. With the Orange mobile - make sure you use every single one of your free minutes each month to stop having to pay for them on your landline. If you do go over it's probably going to be cheaper using this one than a PAYG anyway, although if you're at home make sure you use the landline.

Did you speak to PayPlan about reducing your payment to them for a while? If you got overpaid TC's and your OH gave up work they need to know about your drop in income.

Sorry I can't be more help

Regarding your orange contract, keep a eye out for changes to your tariff for example if the change the price of calls (and its to your disadvantage) then you can get released from the contract under the T&Cs. I know its a long shot but I have managed to cancel a contract in the past. Thinking about it that will also apply to Sky, so your best hope is that they increase the price for the package you are on.

The other option is do you have a family member or friend who is prepaired to take on the Orange contract for you? In the past I let a trusted friend take my phone and he paid the monthly bill less £5 (so he got a £30 per month contract + phone for £25 per month) I made up the difference so it cost me £80 over the term of the contract (as it was 2 months in). I sold the console that came free with the contract to make the money up!

Hi There LFC! Have you heard about the SureStart grant yet? I get the feeling that you are having a 'down' day today......sometimes you come across very upbeat and other times very down. Please understand that this is normal, you are parents to a newborn, probably sleep deprived and under stress, but you have come this far and things WILL get better. Give yourselves a break, and a big pat on the back for managing so well. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel, for sure. I would certainly talk to PP to see if you can reduce your committment to them for a while. Priority is to get a claim in for housing benefit, I think that you would be entitled to a fair chunk, and it is also a kickstart benefit to other things too, ie the new vouchers for formula/ milk/ fruit and veg etc. Good luck!

Thanks for all the help, I'm gonna go through everything later and work out a tighter budget, and get onto Payplan to go through everything again to see what they come up with

I would try ORange again. When we had financial difficulties they put the contract on hold. We had been with Orange for a few years though. It is worth persevering.
