  • I had a faulty TV and i spoke to the supplier & Samsung. Samsung wouldn't replace only repair even tho TV was 2 days old. The supplier after a few days passed me the details of their supplier and i arranged a replacement with them.

Well I had mixed responses here and thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. I've dropped an email to the prize giver now, so will wait and see what the response is.

I won a portable DVD player through Nectar which didn't work. I contacted Nectar and they sent me another one, no problem. Didn't even ask for the original one back.
  • I too would go back to the prize supplier especially if its from a third party, when I won from Shortlist a laptop that broke the agency used to supply the prize replaced it straight away as they had details of the purchase etc

As long as you are polite in the email and just ask what you should do then its up to them then

I won a Kindle in the advents last year, it didn't work properly when I received it, I contacted Amazon (to see if they could repair it), never thought about going back to company I won from (am rather dizzy and was fairly new to comping) & would have paid for repair, instead they sent a brand new one out within 48 hours and collected faulty one from me at same time.
They did ask where I purchased it from, and I explained I had won it and who from, but there was no quibbling on their part.
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

An update from me. I contacted the prize giver who couldn't help as they were just going into administration and after a frustrating time of trying to get a contact for the maker (Archos) I got through to a very vague person on 'technical support' today. I can return the tablet to them, but as I don't have an invoice or receipt (the prize card won't count) they will not send it back so I will be wasting my money in sending it.

Think I'll see if anyone wants to buy a faulty tablet on fleabay.

    Ok rant over.
