Is the job centre open on new years eve

new years eve (the 31st december) is the date when I would usually sign on, I was given an appointment for the 14 the jan instead and the advisor did not say anything about the 31st,
I just want to check that no one else has an appointment on the 31st. the last thing I need is a sanction to start off the new year.

Google "Jobcentre Plus" and the very first page on the very first link tells you that.....
"Jobcentre Plus offices and helplines are closed Christmas Eve (except Scotland, which is open until 5pm), Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and 2 January (in Scotland only)."0 -

I have looked on on many different sites and none of them mention the 31st december, on another thread about christmas payments there was another poster who had pretty much the same situation as I did, their usual sign on day would have been the 31st but instead they were given their next sign on appointment for the 14th january0 -

I have already looked on that site before,
I am slightly confused because the 31st would be my normal sign on day, however on my booklet it says that the next appointment I have to attend is 14th January.0 -

If you have a document that says your next appointment is on 14th, then your next appointment must be on the 14th. However, if you have any doubts, the office is open on Monday so you can ring them or drop in just to make sure.0 -

I think I will probably phone them up just in case in the morning0 -

The Jobcentres are open for advisor interviews, but if you are just signing you won't be required to attend as signing is excused up until the 2nd January.0

There are only 3 days over the Christmas and New Year period (in England) that they are closed. However they then added Christmas Eve as a day of closure to the public mainly because there was never any work done. There will still be some staff on duty on the Christmas Eve.0
