Incorrectly filled V5C
Just bought a car from someone i work with & sent off the V5C to DVLA.
Problem is we forgot to complete the modifications section on it. The engine was replaced with another one with lower miles on the clock...can i simply request another V5C & notify dvla of changes on that??
Plus, I am looking for insurance and when asked about changes to car, there is no option for what has been done to the car - that cant be correct as am sure many cars get engines replaced!?
Am presuming i have to tell insurers in order to get valid car insurance.
Pls advise as my 1st car and am a little stuck.

Was it a different ,ie more powerful engine that was put in then ? To just replace same for same but less miles does not constitute a modificationYou scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Yes exactly same engine size that came from another car which was same make/model but slightly newer...but i'm thinking will have to inform them of new vin number of engine.0

You don't have to tell the insurance if it's a like for like replacement engine, just update the DVLA on the new engine number.0
