Textiles

I'm looking for some cheap quality textiles for the new home. Possible suggestions would be welcome. So far I've seen the be brave no beige Ikea textiles HERE a lot of which I like a lot - some a bit too much for me. Has anyone had any experiences good/bad with them?
Thanks in advance

I've bought quite a bit from Ikea in the past.
Cushion covers I've found to be really good, some nice quality cotton which washes and wears well.
Curtains, I'm not so sure about, some of them tend to shrink when washed, though they are extra long, probably for that purpose.
Pure cotton ones I would stay away from,as if you wash them you'll never get them ironed and crease free again.
Fabric by the metre, I was going to buy some once, but was warned by another sewer not to, as it shrinks and fades very much, so I took her warning and didn't.
I've got Ikea bed linen too, I've found that the stitching on mine isn't great, and is coming apart already, however, the feel of it, compared to my expensive duvet cover is just wonderful, and despite the growing holes along the seams I much prefer it.
So I'd say it's a hit and miss thing with them.
Maybe for something as expensive as curtains Ebay would be better? you can get some lovely fabric there,or buy second hand very good quality ones, especially Laura Ashley etc.
Good luck with the decorating!M.A.C.A.W member number 39
