Barclays overdraft ppi rejection letter

Hiya,
A bit of advice would be greatly appreciated on this.
Barclays wrote to me recently advsing that they may have missold me ppi on a loan that I had in 2007 I have filled in the form and been paid out for that, which was nice.
I was also advised that I had ppi on my overdraft with them when I called them up to discuss the loan.
I put in a claim for this too as I had no idea that I even had it as it was only 5 pounds a month and I thought it was part of the additions account that I had.
The letter states:
"We have completed the investiagtion and can confirm that PPI was not included in the overdraft application. As we have been unable to establish that you had a PPI policy with us your complaint has not been upheld"
Thing is on my bank statements going back till 2008 (this is the latest I can get my hands on at the moment online) it states "payment protection 5.00" on it, every month??
or on the newer ones "overdraft protection 5.00"
How can they say that I don't have ppi on the account when all the statements say it?

Write back and tell them they have got it wrong and include copies of the evidence you mention here.0

Just an update,
I have written to them with a copy of my statements from 2010 until now where it states "payment protection" and then the amount.
This is the letter I have sent to them:
Thank you for your letter dated the 20/12/12. I have some concerns regarding your response and I would like to raise the following points for further consideration relating to this matter:
In your letter you state that “PPI was not included in the overdraft application” and that “as we have been unable to establish that you had a PPI policy with us your complaint has not been upheld.”
In response to this please find some bank statements that go back to August 2010 and you can clearly see where I have highlighted the parts where it states “Overdraft Protection” Service charge and then the amount I have been charged. The most recent statements that I have sent with this letter even states “Payment Protection”.
How is it that you can state that I have had no PPI policy with you when this is clearly not the case as demonstrated by the statements that I have sent to you?
I have at times been self employed whilst this cover was running which would have resulted in any claim being rejected and for the last 5-7 years I had had over fifty thousand pounds in investments and savings with Barclays so I clearly did not need or want this PPI policy.
Please review your decision and I look forward to your response. If the decision is still the same I may take my case to the FOS to reach a satisfactory outcome.
They should get the letter tomorrow, so when I hear anything will post it up.0 -
They called me today to confirm the receipt of letter and advised me that it is now with their "decisions" team and has been given a new complaint reference number.
The guy also said that I should hear very soon or maybe even just receive the payment instantly into my bank if approved.
I had this with the loan ppi I had a payment in my account on Xmas eve and have not had a letter yet from Barlclays explaining that my complaint has been upheld. It's a bit strange.0
