EDF keeps sending letters to me for a bill that's already paid

Options
I've paid a paper electricity bill from EDF early in December. Today I received the second "overdue" letter - I'd ignored the first one, thinking that it must've been a glitch but apparently this is not going away. All I have as an evidence is an entry on my bank statement, as I used an iOS app to make the payment.

What is the best way to resolve this?

Money leaving your account does not prove that it was sent to or received in theirs. If they deny receipt, you need to start by double checking the sort code and acc. no you paid it to. What does your bank say?

You can check online that it has been credited to your account. I have found that if you are 15 days on more late in paying after the paper bill (or revised paper bill after providing a true reading), they expecy a prompt credit. If you delay, or get the first Reminder, you WILLK get the second Final demand regardless - I believe they print them off at the same time, as the same misalignement on the printing was the same for both..

    Economies of scale over accuracy!

Check to make sure you really have paid into the correct account. This recently happened to me and it turned out that my payee in my online banking used my old account number from the "owner/occupier" account.

A quick call to EDF and they were able to transfer the money from one account to the other.
