Sunscreen is probably about the most effective anti-ageing cream (especially in the summer months, though some people wear it year-round)

I've tried a few anti-ageing creams, but beware if you've got sensitive skin some of them can be quite harsh and could cause redness. The Avene ones have quite an unpleasant feel when you put them on, I found. A lot of people swear by the Boots Protect&Perfect serum. I tried it but I am not convinced it's worth the money, tbh. These days I just moisturise with some olive oil.

This article contains some interesting info, and if you scroll down it tells you what's actually in the anti-ageing creams and how they're supposed to work:

i have sensitive skin and I cant use anti ageing products as I find them irritating on my skin.

I cleanse with olive oil and use Aveeno on my face,it is meant for the body I think but my skin is good for it's age.I am 38 and people have said they think I am much younger as I have no wrinkles or lines on my brow, although I can see my skin ageing it isnt too bad

I also dont smoke or sit in the sun without an spf50 on, although I dont use it every day as again I find it irritating if used too often

I've just started using Eve Lom cleanser and moisturiser (will be 40 next year and have promised I will take 'better care' of myself) Its not cheap - I think I paid 36 quid for the daily cleanser and about the same for the moisturiser but they do feel fabulous to use. Was discussing skin care today with my beautician while getting eyebrows done and she said I have good skin so dont know if its working!? The salon uses Darphin which she said is good too and varies in price depending on what you need....

Hi pixie. I don't normally post here but thought I would answer your question as I also have rosacea.

I have to be very careful with anti-ageing creams as I have very sensitive skin and burned a small area of skin in the area a bit below my eye using one.

What I find works best for me is Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair (which I also use in the morning) followed by EL's Idealist. I've used them for the past twenty years and have very few lines - just small ones around the eyes. I also don't smoke, don't sunbathe and don't drink (or rarely).

Estee Lauder counters should give you free samples of both if you explain that you have rosacea and need to try before you buy.

I tried that stuff and had the worst breakout I have had since I was a teenager. It clogged all my pores up. I even had blackheads on my cheeks! I have dry skin and never had blackheads there even as a teenager.

I use L'Oreal Youth Code which my sensitive skin loves, but I don't think it has any of the irritants in that some anti-aging creams have. It just seems to be a rich moisturiser.

I like Nurture from Healthspan- especially the serum. It's good value and works well IMHO. Anything you buy from them has a money back guarantee- so if it doesn't suit your skin you send it back!

I use the Lacura range at Aldi (serum and night cream) and I think it's brilliant. Cheap as chips too, so maybe less to lose if you try it and find it doesn't suit you.
