    Welldone Fairy.
Does that mean you have to pay it now to settle it?
If not, I didn't even know they would do that at all - wow!

What fab motivation to keep going now it's no much more achievable, so much quicker. Bloomin' amazing love :)

Ok, i have to breath deeply..........I can't quite believe this!!

I have just negotiated a reduction in my 3 of my credit card bills - They were £8186.91 across the 3 and i have had an offer of £2456 accepted as a settlement figure!

That is a whopping £5730.91 i have just managed to get off my debt balance :j:j:j:j

I think that is the most money i have ever 'made' in 10 mins :D:D:D

I still can't believe they just accepted it - i thought there was no chance and expected having to go up a lot from that amount - I think i'm in shock :rotfl:

So do i add that to my £10 a day balance then??? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Please may I ask how or where you got this information? I am facing opening all the letters I have hidden for MONTHS tomorrow, and I know a few of them will add up to around £7,500.00 I am scared and would love to find out some information on how to speak to the companies and how i go about calling the Debt collectors off!

First of all just breathe and open the letters all at once, don't even look at them as you open them. My debt was £22, 000 and I had 14 creditors - THE single most life changing thing I did was set up a debt management plan with cccs (now called step change). They were sooooooo nice and easy to talk to, no judgment whatsoever and they are free as well.

The hard bit is getting a clear figure for each creditor and working out ur income and expenditure - you will need this info to get the correct advice. I have been paying them just £60 a month and they then paid my creditors.

As soon as you ring cccs you get a reference number and you use this to call off the dogs! Just ring your creditors and tell them you are with cccs give them the number and ALL interest will be stopped as do the letters and phone calls.

It is a lot easier than you think - well done on getting to the opening letters stage :) no matter what the amount is there is a solution!

If you need any more info or advice feel free to chat to me anytime - I saw u were on my diary thread - we can chat on there more so we don't take over this thread.

    Hope that helps xxx

Haven't got my head into this yet, but we decided yesterday to go to NYC for half term. Flights are covered just hotel/food/spending money to raise- aiming for £600 (dp also saving similar amount) Have saved money on a few things - cancelled the living social voucher for a trip we were going to take (refund = £99) and saved £5 on a phone contract plus Christmas money of £200. So £300 ish to find in 6 weeks! I'm a SAHM ATM so this will be a real challenge.

Out this am then eBay listing will start in prep for next free listing day. ( said that so many times but really I HAVE to today and never been so excited to do it :) ) Will have to try to stay off MSE though as I lose hours here at a time.

Only earnings so far are £15 rewards.

I think its different with different companies monkeynut - some ask for payment straight away but mine asked me for time limit :D you can't keep paying it off after a settlement agreed it has to be paid in a lump sum (though mine is for 3 cards so its 3 lump sums). Its certainly a lot easier for me to pay now :) I have a few other companies i will try the same thing with and see how i get on :rotfl::rotfl: I now have it in my head that i might even be able to clear all my debts this year which would just be fab :j:D
