E.ON won't allow me to fix prices before price hike?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I was hoping to fix my energy prices just before they rise by 8% on 18th January 2013 however, having called E.ON they told me that I can fix my current prices until 18th Jan and then my price plan will go up! I thought the idea of a 1 year fixed price plan was that…

Already some great advice on here. Thanks all.

Just to confirm what others have said, we have fixed price plans currently available that you can switch to immediately. The unit prices on all of these will be more than you're paying at the moment.

You won't though be able to fix the prices on your existing standard tariff. These will go up on 18 January.

I'm sorry the advice you received when you called wasn't particularly clear but hope this explains the situation. Let me know if you need any more details as will be happy to help.
