This week I ordered a Specialized Hardrock Disc 2006 (it's a bike) over the Internet from Evans Cycles. As it was the 2006 model is was reduced. I won't go into the details, but basically their website gave me some wrong advice, which I did not notice until after I had placed the order.

So I phoned them up, and voiced, calmly, my disappointment that their website was wrong, and they were now not able to complete my order.

Anyway to cut a long story short, they went away and then came back to me to say as this was their fault they would sell me a 2007 model for the same price. A saving of £70.

Now obviously they should not have got it wrong the first time round, but I applaud them for putting their hands up and resolving the situation with a minimal amount of fuss. It is rare to find good customer service these days, and I feel it is important to share it when found.
