In my Campervan, to save the gas I use a wide mouth thermos(mine came from a Car boot sale). Put pasta in, top up with boiling water, wait twenty minutes. All cooked. I haven't used the Pasta express but I did stand in a shop and read the instructions and it said it only cooked to 'el dente' which to me is still hardish. The Thermos method is a lot cheaper!0

Thanks that's really very interesting, it would never have occurred to me to use a thermos. How much quicker did it cook than the usual method of plunging into a big pot of boiling water.I usually get the quick cooking variety which takes only about 5 minutes once the water has boiled. It's boiling up the big pot of water(too much for a kettle) that takes the most time.0
