What to do? Refund? Wait & post? Other?

Hi all

I sold a low value item on Wednesday evening. I thought I'd have days to send the item.....

I emailed the buyer immediately to advise that I'll be out of the country for two weeks and would need to receive her payment by noon today Saturday.

I didn't get a reply or payment, so sent a cancellation request at noon which included a message that I could send the item in two weeks time on my return, and that I understood this is probably too far away so to just let me know what she'd like to do.

The buyer has now paid me. I've received no other communication from her.

What should my next step be?

Arrange for someone else to post the item. You have no other action available, you cannot insist a buyer to pay within your time scale and you can't possibly not bother posting for 2 weeks.

If it is a cheap item can't you just drop it into a post box and not worry about POP?

I live in the US, work in the UK. I have absolutely no-one to post the item for me (which is in my work accommodation room), and am now at Heathrow in transit.

You are right, I should have brought the item to the airport with me and tried to squeeze it into a postbox here.

So, should I simply send her a refund via PayPal?

I would refund and grovel a bit. Hopefully you can avoid poor feedback on this and will only lose the FVFs.
