im trying to be a writer but can only afford to do it if i still work part time so now need to find some kind of part time work to keep me going...
im open for anything really but what id prefer is:
part time a few days a week, not a few hours every day
(or short term temp full time might be possible)
something repetitive and mind numbing would be perfect but i dont know where to start - warehouse packing or data entry or filing type things spring to mind - i had a friend who marked gcse exam papers a few years ago and that kind of thing sounds great too...
has anyone got suggestions for these kind of jobs as i dont have a clue where to start looking or even what to type in as a search when i do!?
thank you one and all...

if temping is OK for you then start by going to your local agencies
jobcentreplus has lots of warehousy type jobs, as does gumtree if thats in your area ? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

has anyone got any suggestions of specific jobs or areas that i might be interested in?0 -
What about the likes of Starbucks?
They do a lot of part-time sort of stuff as most of their people are students.0 -

A friend of mine does exam marking for GCSEs every year - but she's a teacher. I think you just have to have a relevant degree, rather than any teaching experience or qualification

I found cleaning jobs were good for earning enough to keep me afloat whilst I did other things. You could get enough cleaning to fill a couple of days through an agency, perhaps?0 -
You may be a bit late for exam marking, they hold quite a few markers' meetings beforehand to make sure the marking is consistent between examiners.
I know you said you'd rather have a few days than a few hours every day, but schools often have part-time jobs, and you don't usually have to work through the school holidays either. If you like children, consider midday supervisor or classroom assistant (although I think there's usually a lot of competition for those!) don't know if that would give you enough to live on either.
I know at the back of our local paper's job ads there is always a section for part-time work, and what's on offer seems very varied. Also our local council says you can apply for any job as a job-share, and they often have half a job-share advertised.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Seeing as you are in london- Ive pmed you with some info. In saying that, I dont think it would be enough for you to live on, im doing it to top-up a 9-5 salary. it really depends on how much you need to live on. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? i will indeed get registered with some temp agencies but keep the ideas coming.. it's really helpful to get all sorts of info on what could be out there...0 -
