Please help. I have 20k and dont know what to do

A friend of mine is separated from his wife and has been left 20K by his late father. He wants to take the 20K out of his bank so his wife wont be entitled to it. Where can he put the money without declaring it? Especially if she wants a divorce soon.

You say 'I have £20k' then its 'A Friend of Mine' :rotfl:
Wire it to me by Western Union and I will take care of it for you ;)

What you propose to do is immoral if not illegal. The wife is entitled to a part of it under their property settlement.

And in any case, the man is a fool to give it to you as it would be yours by law and you could spend it.

for your 'friend' (the lowlife he is that he is hding money) should pay off debt with it first, then fill his ISA allowance for the year and perhaps top up his pension. This last would mean a BRTax uplift, so when he splits his pension with his ex, he would lose 'less' of it as it would be worth more than what he put in.

The Wife, if she is smart, will know the father is dead, and will make enquiries to the probate office about any will registered and can make her claim from that. Hide the money, and maybe she will be given more?
