Scottish Power Cancellation Help?
Options
Hi,
I received a phone call a few weeks ago from a young chap working in a call centre trying to sell Scottish power.
I tried to end the call (I'm not rude and don't hang up). I explained I was happy with my electricity provider and that I was staying with E-on.
A few days later received a letter stating that the switch over would take place in 5 weeks when my new electric key comes. I'm absolutely fuming aski never agreed to such a thing.
On the 21st of December 2012 I sent an email to the customer service team expressing my views and requesting cancellation of the switch over. I asked for a response confirming cancellation and also requested that after I had received that I wanted no further contact from them.
I understand it has been Christmas but I am yet to even receive a `thanks for your email` response let alone confirmation of the cancellation. Can anyone explain how I can ensure the switch over has been cancelled apart from ringing them and having them try everything under the sun to talk me into switching.
Sorry for the long message... :-)

Have you tried contacting your current supplier & telling them the situation. They may be able to help, especially as it is in their interests. It can't hurt to try.0

It's Eon that you need to contact to tell them that you do not wish to switch, not SP!
If you do not respond to Eon's 'sorry to see you go' letter in the required time limit then the switch may go ahead.
The raise a written complaint (headed 'complaint') with SP in your own time. The clock is then ticking and the ball is in their court.
Don't email, don't phone-it will get you nowhere. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I haven't received such a letter from E-on yet that is why I was unsure on how to proceed. I will now contact them.
Do I write to Scottish power then and send recorded?0 -
Yes, send recorded-but contacting the outgoing supplier is the priority. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

We had a phonecall from Eon to check that the switch request had actually been initiated by us. The letter came quite a while after.
Don't wait for Eon to contact you though, get on to the phone to them as soon as possible.0
