You should be able to set up a modem/router box connection to the internet, but you will probably have to connect your laptop to the modem with a network (RJ45) cable while you set up the settings.
Then you put a wireless card into your laptop, disconnect it from the modem and use it anywhere in the house.

Yes, so effectively you're paying Amazon 22p for delivery, less than the cost of the fuel to go to PCWorld to collect it ;)

you get someone to go get it for you for FREE :)

Please be aware that the router will only be suitable for people who use NTL broadband OR have an ADSL modem which has an ethernet connection, as this router does not have a built in ADSL modem. Good find though :D

    Hi,
I have tiscali broadband and the modem is from SAGEM, if i buy all this belkin gear will it work together with my current modem? I am confused by this ethernet connection, is ethernet the standard connection?
    Any help is much appreciated.

  • That depends if it connects using a USB (kinda rectangular connector shape) or Ethernet (Square/Seethrough connector shape). You need a Ethernet modem for it to work.
