It is entirely possible that the OP lives in Accomodation where the heating / hot water is communal and the shared cost of it, included in the rent. Their low gas use could simply be attributed to the use of a Gas cooking appliance
There are several council and assisted housing projects in this area where heating and DHW is included, so not entirely uncommon or beyond the realm of consideration"Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -
Indeed, but the OP needs to provide clarification then.
Posters frequently post asking 'is my usage average?' without giving any clues as to their property specifics. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks for the replies and advice all.
Yes, you're quite correct, my reading which I had taken from on line bill history was incorrect. It should actually be m3 according to the actual meter.
That leads me to another query - U Switch etc only give me an option to enter Kwh and I don't know how to convert.
I appreciate the responses and advice from all. Many thanks.0 -

You are not offered cu m or 100's cu ft, as they are not billing units and are not constants-you must use kWh.
716 cu m is about 8,136kWh. About half the national average. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Switch done with an estimated saving of £133.83; I'm happy with that.
Thanks for the input and advice all.
