EON making adverse remarks on credit file

We recently contacted EON after being with them for 5 years as we noted that they were making adverse credit remarks on my credit file. They have only just started doing this within the last 5 months despite being with them 5 years. They have also added my name to my tenants bills from a house I own and rent out. EON stated that its "because you pay by standing order other than direct debit" Despite keeping the bills up-to date, they still make adverse remarks on your credit file. Anyone else had problems with this?

If you pay on time then what adverse information are they putting on your credit file? Clearly if it is factually incorrect then dispute it with EON and also the CRA they use.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -
Hi Ormerod999
We started sharing information with Credit Reference Agencies about a year ago. This helps us assess credit risk more accurately so as to try to keep debt to a minimum.
As well as sharing payments information of those who don't pay, we also share info on those who do. This gives those who do pay positive entries on their credit files.
As UsetheFORCE says, please let us know if you feel we've shared incorrect information.
Around the same time, we started limiting the number of named people on an account. Now, all new accounts are only in the one name.
Do you mean your tenants account is in your name? If this is the case, please let us have details of when responsibility changed. We can then close the account in your name and open another for your tenant. A Tenancy Agreement would help with this.
Have to say, I'm baffled by the comment we made to you about standing orders/direct debits. Payment arrangements have no bearing whatsoever on whose name is on the account and I'm sorry if we told you it did.
Also sorry if I've the wrong end of the stick here.
Hope this is of interest. Let me know if you need any more info. Drop an email to the address in my Profile if you prefer. I'm not around for the next few days but one of my colleagues will pick it up.

I wonder if the ops standing order is late, and is not a ddDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
