Happy Christmas, have 4 1*

Ran a DSR report today, and someone has left me 4 x 1* across the board. Only positive feedback received, and no unhappy buyers that I know of.
I phoned Ebay CS Dublin and was told their system was running slow, but they would "look into it"
Just lately, I have been finding ebay increasing stressful, mostly due to the DSR system. In the past couple of months, I have been left a 1* which I appealed against and had removed. Another 1* that I didn't even know about until ebay advised they had removed it. 9 3* for item as described, bought by a competitor and then resold in excellent condition.
5 3* for postage and packing despite subsidising postage charge. I know free postage is the way to go, but when you are selling items that weigh between 2 & 3 kilos, that is impossible as the item won't stand the cost being included in the price.
Now this one. The only unhappy buyer I can think could be is someone who didn't pay until I raised an NPB. If it does turn out to be her, then I will seriously consider whether I can afford to raise any more NPB's
What happened to the good old days when selling on Ebay was fun and you didn't have to grit your teeth everytime you received a message from a buyer ?

How annoying - I hope you get them removed.
Are you going to work out who it was? You can always use the new 'report buyer' thing, particularly if it was a NPB who paid late...
Like you I was left 1* across the board by someone along with glowing feedback. I ran reports until I had worked out who it was and there was no reason for it that I could see.
I did phone CS and the feedback was removed.
Every time I look at my detailed ratings I have a sinking feeling, managed to pick up 3 x 1* over Xmas, different buyers and different areas.0 -
I'm struggling to find out who it was, as I sold a lot of the same items with the same item number.
I'll try Ebay CS again tomorrow. I daren't leave it, as at this rate, I will soon lose my TRS account. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Yes that would make it difficult.
I hate this DSR system!0 -
Phoned eBay again and managed to get them removed. The feedback comment has also gone, but I took a copy of my feedback beforehand so know exactly who it was, and their comment was really positive, so no idea why they left the four 1 stars.
I would strongly urge anyone who received low stars to query them if they feel they are unjustified. As soolin keeps reminding us, you need to keep checking your dsr report as a few low stars and you could be suspended. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

I've just had the same. Glowing feedback but 4 x 1*. I worked out it was a newby who then told me they 'got mixed up and thought 1* was excellent, 5* was poor - sorry'
Whilst this is clearly wrong I do think there is a case for explaining stars more clearly to occasional buyers

It just proves there are idiots out there. Have you left stars recently, it is nto actually rocket science to work out which is high and which is low.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have used ebay around 300 times over the last ten years to buy and to sell on a very causal basis, and every time I log on it seems there is something new to get my head around.
I have yet to leave any star ratings, however in my mind as someone who reads reviews etc 5 stars = excellent, over and above and 4 would be 'very good', 3 would be 'average', 2 would be 'below average' and one would be 'terrible'. It is odd to me that you would give someone five stars for putting something in the post - as I said, I have not starred anyone and would look into it properly before doing so, but it strikes me that it is an easy system to misunderstand. There must be many many people out there who, like me, use ebay periodically and don't realise exactly how much stock sellers put in that extra star.
Yet another reason I dislike ebay so vehemently!0 -
'The idiots' aren't just on eBay, they're on Amazon too! I've just noted a surprising 1-star review of an excellent book with otherwise 5-star reviews.
The reason, apparently is that "the book is far too heavy to read in bed". Apparently the explicit references to the dimensions and weight, in the product description, previous reviews and the phrase "coffee table book" weren't blindingly obvious enough! :wall:"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."
