rte signal in tyrone

hello

on the analogue system i had 2 separate aerials - uhf and vhf - both are still switched on with boosters ... however despite having a full HD TV we cant pick up rte

with the old system we could only pick up rte1/2 from sligo (no channel 5)

Can anyone suggest what amendments I'd need to make to my aerial?
Is the VHF aerial needed - can it be scrapped?

Also can you recommend any competitive aerial fitters in the Strabane/Omagh area?

Your old rte aerial is not required

Rte is now on freeview if you have the correct tuner in the tv

You may have a HD tv but it might not be the latest type for free view rte signal. Scan again and see if rte stations appear?

The RTE aerial will be needed if you want to get ALL the RTE channels and not have any 'black outs' for sports and the like.

i do have the full HD box and tried rescanning - nothing -- what adjustments do i need to make to my UHF aerial - should it point to truskmore -- dont care about sports just basic rte1/2 is fine

Make and model of the HD box is really what I was after.
Also, do you know which transmitter both your aerials are pointing to?
If you have one pointing to Strabane, it doesn't carry the Ni Mini Mux, but the Brougher Mountain does.
Is the RTE aerial pointing to Ballybofey or Truskmore. What direction do the elements on you RTE aerial point, up/down or left/right?

Had a look on both the Saorview and Freeview maps and corresponding transmitters and it doesn't look good.
I think you will have to approach someone in your area who has the experience and knows the terrain.

Our aerial is pointing at limavady im nearly certain! Does that have Ni Mini Mux do you think? Also the TV is tuned to channel 45 with average strength

The RTE aerial VHF was pointing at sligo -- not sure if this was the Truskmore site?

The reviews on the QVC site would put me off!
Limavady does not transmit the NI Mux as it is considered there is enough overspill from RTE sites.
As far as I can tell the RTE channels are being broadcast on C53 from Truskmore. Have a look at its broadcast footprint here ;

thanks again - from Truskmore - it appears no chance of getting rte -- ill trying contacting a local aerial fitter - there are arent many in this year

where would my other rte option be from
