Debt Managers ltd - What's the next step after sending a proof-it letter to them?

Hi there,
I’ve recently got 2 letters from Debt Managers ltd (on behalf of Arrow Shop Direct (Carval). The first letter say I need to verify myself with them for the debt I supposedly owe, which I ignore it as my credit is clean* and I don’t know them. 2 weeks later they sent another letter, threatening they are instructing a doorstep visit.
I’ve did some research and sent the proof-it letter to them today, telling them that’s not my debt and awaiting their replies.
Now I’m wondering about the next step. And my questions are…
1) What is the next thing to do after sending the prove-it letter?
2) Has anyone got the replies from Debt Managers ltd (or other DCA) after sending the proof-it letter? If so, how you react with them?
3) Some people got a reply from Debt Managers asking them to verify themselves. In this case, what should I do? I learned from this forum that I shouldn’t reveal any information with them.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated and thank you very much for your help.

Wait for a response. You cannot second guess them. They make come back with something or nothing.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

But remember, it is their job to prove your debt, not for you to prove otherwise. You are under no obligation to help them and if they begin to harass or alarm you, send them a letter telling them that you do not acknowledge this debt and if they don't stop bothering you, you will report them to the OFT.
They almost certainly won't bother with a visit and all th rest is just bluff. Ignore them until they have proved, to your satisfaction, that you do indeed owe this debt. Proof must consist of the original credit agreement baring your signature, correct name and address, appropriate reference numbers that can be verified and a statement of account showing how much is owing, to whom and from when.
Remember, if the original debt is more than 6 years old, proceed to the final stage which is a letter disavowing responsibility and telling them to jog on since it was statute barred anyway.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Exactly right. The next step is for them to show you that it relates to an account that you took out.
As your letter would have said:We would ask that no further contact be made concerning the above accounts unless you can provide evidence as to our liability for the debt in question ... Otherwise we will have no option but to make a complaint to the trading standards department and consider informing the OFT of your actions.
You can complain to the Financial Ombudsman too.0 -
Thank you everyone for your replies. That is very helpful and made me feel much better.
By the way, I have another question.
On the letter I sent to Debt Managers ltd, should I or shouldn't I have put my name at the end of the letter? Will that mean I confirm my identity with them?
Any comments will be very welcome and appreciated.0 -
Anyone? Does your name need to be at the end of the letter? I'm a bit worried about it as that seems to confirm my identity.
Any suggestion would be very helpful. Thank you.0 -
They have already written to your name at your address.
Not putting your name on the bottom of the letter makes no sense - and may give them an excuse to not action it as they will not know who the letter is from.
You might be getting confused with signing it. While some people would not actually sign it I don't think it is likely that any harm will be done by doing so.
Certainly no harm has been done by just printing your name.BSC No 248

You can confirm your name and address, but certainly don't give them a copy of your signature. Print your signature in CAPITALS."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
